Our Australian tribe are seeking an experienced Inventory Planner who is a self-starting analyst that interprets situations, relationships and data to reach postulates and conclusions. This newly created position reports directly to the Demand Planning Manager and provides support to the Operations team. Our high functioning and dynamic Operations department are looking for a new member to join them and have as much fun as they do! This exciting new role is a pivotal contributor to the WD-40 Tribe supporting the forecast panning, inventory control and analysis, import coordination, order fulfillment reporting and operational project support helping the department to achieve its strategic goal.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead and produce a collaborative and robust rolling 6 month SKU demand forecasting plan taking into consideration internal and external inputs for all brands.
  2. Thoroughly understand and account for various demand signals including trends, events, promotions and seasonal adjustments, apply analytical tools and thinking to ensure the reasonableness of forecasts and develop strategies and models to reduce forecasting error and bias.
  3. Drive the sales and supply chain planning process including the preparation, variance analysis and distribution of the sales and operations planning data developing actionable plans to clear company owned inventory to reduce associated inventory holding costs. .
  4. Work closely with Supply Chain colleagues to monitor and routinely report inventory levels for all SKUs. Report and reconcile slow moving obsolete inventory balance with Finance team. Communicate contingency stock commitments impacting company balance sheet.
  5. Work with offshore suppliers on import schedule and Coordinate with freight forwarders on container import/export requirement, from offshore suppliers to local 3rd party warehouse, and/or from local depot to overseas customers, facilitate customs clearance documentation as required.
  6. Utilize strong interpersonal skills to ask inquisitive questions and work vertically across Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain organizations to arrive at agreed upon solutions.
  7. Conduct supplier root cause analysis and provide fact based performance feedback in the identification of cost savings and process improvement. Understand operations issues and identify opportunities to increase efficiencies and ensure the business is able to meet/exceed customer expectations.
  8. Maintenance and set up of inventory within ERP & associated tools.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience developing and managing collaborative forecasts, inventory and/or analysis of warehouse and retail sales trends, events, and seasonality.
  • Intermediate/advanced applied experience in MS Excel. Intermediate MS Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills and data entry experience.
  • Consumer Packaged Goods experience preferred.
  • Bachelors degree or certificate/diploma of statistics, supply chain, logistics is desirable.
