    The WD-40 Company Marketing team is growing its Customer Marketing department.  This exciting new role will champion our industrial channel and develop relevant content and support materials to connect with the end user across many sectors.  The successful candidate will have broad experience developing consumer/customer insights and creating and executing marketing activation programs to increase revenue, brand equity and enhance customer relationships.

    This position will be remote working in a home office with expected travel up to 45%.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    • Creates the channel and account specific marketing activation strategies, plans, and tactics within defined campaigns/programs, innovation launches, and other product initiatives in alignment with Brand, Digital, Innovation and Sales.
    • Ability to develop relevant content and support materials focused on B2B sales for multiple sectors within the industrial channel.
    • Champions category leadership principles in the development of customer joint business plans and executions to enhance partnerships and brand growth.
    • Extrapolates insights from primary and secondary research to build relevant and highly engaging marketing account activation plans and activities across all brands.
    • Accountable for the analysis and reporting of POS movement (syndicated and non-syndicated) in order to provide guidance on shopping patterns, sales performance, ROI metrics, and competitive activity.
    • Leads the engagement and management of shopper marketing and design agency partners.
    • Identifies, communicates, and recommends activation strategies to neutralize and outpace competitive threats within assigned channel and across major markets.
    • Provides input to annual fiscal year plan development and long term strategic plans.
    • Equips sales team with specific selling tools that gives them confidence to lead compelling sales dialogues with wholesale distributors and end-users.
    • Build strategic recommendations, gain consensus, and provide direction to cross functional program partners, and leaders both internally and externally.


    What You’ll Bring to the Role


    • 5-7 years of customer marketing experience in the industrial channel and/or business to business marketing experience (knowledge of E-Commerce a plus)
    • Ability to develop creative briefs for agency partners and manage collateral development and agency relationships
    • Proven ability to leverage marketing research and data to drive business decisions and approach
    • Demonstrated experience building and delivering compelling presentations to multiple audience levels, including senior leadership and distributors.
    • Demonstrated ability to achieve multiple objectives with varying timelines
    • Strong leadership ability
    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field, preferred
    • Ability to travel 35-45%
