    We are seeking an analytical, detail oriented and passionate Assistant Brand Manager to join the highly functioning WD-40 Brand team. The successful candidate will play an integral support role in the development, implementation, and coordination of annual and rolling 12- 18-month marketing plans and programs for assigned brands and products across the U.S.

    Responsibilities

    Brand Stewardship — Assists in the development, implementation, and communication of appropriate annual and rolling 12-18-month brand plans, programs, and promotions. Demonstrates an understanding of consumer needs and wants. Manages the creation of assets, content, and collateral to support brand campaigns including seasonal marketing toolkits, media assets, point-of-purchase materials, and relevant sales collateral.

     

    Business Acumen — Responsible for proactive tracking, updating, and assessing of advertising & promotions budgets under the direction of Coach.  Understand the effectiveness of various marketing promotions across assigned brands, as well as market trends and competitive activity.  Prepares monthly business reviews for presentation to leadership. Regularly supports Coach in the development of volume forecasting deliverables.

     

    Strategic Effectiveness — Coordinates the development, communication, and implementation of new and existing SKUs.  Work with Trade Marketing to develop P&Ls for new and existing SKUs to ensure assumptions are accurate and profit levels satisfy company objectives.  Leverages marketing research to distill key consumer and business insights to develop brand action plans that meet business objectives.

     

    Marketing Analytics Defines, monitors, and assesses the appropriate success metric for assigned projects and initiatives.  Manages assigned initiative programs (e.g., coupon redemption, rebates, sampling, etc.) and completes any financial analysis and internal/external reporting - monthly/quarterly/annually (during and post program).

     

    Cross-functional team collaboration — Actively works with agency partners, digital marketing, and customer marketing to develop programs and presents plans.  Day-to-day agency contact for assigned projects.  Coordinates claim support documentation and approval of all communications.  Works with internal and external marketing partners to determine appropriate brand representation across all marketing channels. 

    Qualifications

    What You’ll Bring to the Role

    • 1-3 years of relevant work experience in consumer package goods marketing
    • New product development and/or trade marketing relevant training
    • Ability to plan, execute and evaluate multiple projects; work proficiently with internal and external cross-functional teams according to predetermined timelines and budgets from start to finish
    • Experience implementing and analyzing data from a variety of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
    • Development of promotional concepts, providing direction, creative briefings, and appropriate levels of meaningful feedback
    • Experience researching diverse CPG marketing categories such as grocery, hardware, automotive, industrial
    • Experience collaborating with internal and external resources in the development of promotional concepts, providing direction, creative briefings, and appropriate levels of critical feedback
    • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing
    • Ability to travel up to 25%
